PARAMETERS USED FOR THE EVALUATION OF THE USED CAR, IN TRADE-IN OPTION AT TRIVELLATO

The Trivellato group accepts used cars in trade-in option against both the sale of a new MB and Smart cars as well as used cars, KM0 or Jahreswagen (used cars trade-in on used cars). In order to do an approximate evaluation of the car, we use parameters taken from QUATTRORUOTE. The final evaluation will be confirmed only after the test drive at a Trivellato’s workshop. The evaluation is always written and it’s valid for a period of time of 10 days. In the final pages of the revue Quattroruote, one can find the detailed description of the methods used for the evaluation of the used car’s value. Very briefly we consider the following:

• The month and the year of the first matriculation.
• Effective mileage that should correspond to the theoretical mileage for every model.
• Mechanics: it should be perfectly efficient.
• Vehicle Tax Registration: they should be respected and documented by the invoices demonstrating the interventions and by the coupons book which should be regularly stamped.
• Service: the service should be regularly done and written on the registration paper.
• The body and the internals should always be in good conditions.
• Pneumatic tyres: their tread should always be more than 50% .
• The car should not have had important accidents.
• The car should have only one owner, it should be registered for the first time in Italy (no foreign cars).
• If the vehicle is registered as a truck (N1 category) and invoiceable, the final quote will be reduced by 20%.
• AQualified accessories: these are the fee accessories when purchasing a new car that is the following: ABS, Airbag, electric hood, alloy wheels (for SUV), air-conditioning, ESP, ASR, hard top, navigator, self-adjusting suspensions, power steering.
• The evaluation includes VAT, but excludes the passage of property (it costs about 450 euros according to the car model).
• ATo the total evaluation one should subtract the withdrawal value for the cession process at the car dealer (it is the amount you’ll find in the third last column of the tables shown on Quattroruote, at the end of the line of the chosen model).
• According to the marketability index, the colour of the car as well as the internals, the final evaluation could be subjected to a decrease or increase. Such a decrease or increase is always explained apart since it can derive from numerous factors which are not definable. 

Watch out! We perfectly know that sometimes some competitors overvalue the used car they trade in, “hiding” the discount on the new one. Then they subsequently evaluate the used car they trade in according to the objective parameters described in this document.
